2011: Executed joint venture agreement with West Melville Metals Inc. to develop Fraser Bay Project.
2010: GSC (Geological Survey of Canada) regional aeromagnetic survey was conducted, showing the excellent promise of both the Roche Bay Project and the Fraser Bay Project.
2009:NI 43-101 report on Zone C of the Roche Bay deposits published, including inferred resource report and preliminary economic assessment. Fourth year of environmental baseline study completed. Ongoing metallurgical and desktop engineering studies in support of Definitive Feasibility Studies. C$3.5 million was raised in 2009 by Advanced Explorations, which completed a definitive option and royalty agreement with Roche Bay plc the same year.
2008: 16,500 meters drilled in 2008, with a total of 54 holes. NI 43-101 Resource and Preliminary Economic Assessment neared completion. C$9.1 million raised by Advanced Explorations.
2007: 9,300 meters drilled in 2007, with a total of 36 holes. C$25.9 million in equity raised by Advanced Explorations Inc., which became the operator of the Roche Bay Project upon initial agreement with Roche Bay plc.
1997-2007: Ownership of the iron ore target zones was transferred to Roche Bay plc, which then spent 2001-2006 developing business plans and waiting for the iron ore market to strengthen to the point where the early-stage project became potentially optionable. In 2006, Roche Bay did a private placement to raise funds for an initial study of the project.
1986-1997: Project in hibernation.
1975-1985: Mining claims to the target iron ore zones were converted to renewable leases. Harbor mapping was done. 3,000 meters of drilling on the Eastern deposits was done. A feasibility study on the Roche Bay Project was written, and an airstrip was built. In 1983, the combination of VALE starting up significant operations in Brazil and the global steel/iron ore crisis forced the project to be put into hibernation.
1965-1975: The iron ore zones were discovered and staked by Borealis Exploration Limited. Significant metallurgical, geological, mapping, and other work was done.
